DTM type front suspension

Written 04/04/2010: Here are the pictures now. First, here is the complete setup. I have been driving with the suspension now for 2 weeks, sorry for the "dirty" pictures.

Then into details. Here's the rear support with anti-dive adjustment. Adjustment is done by moving the pickup point up and down. Support has a bolt at the back as well to give additional strenght.

Next is the middle pickup point. Support is welded to the engine carrier and additional hole was added to have a possibility to adjust the roll center.

Last, is the wheel. Rear link was brought very close to wheel in order to reduce the twist and improve the stability under braking. Drawback is that turning radius is bigger now.

Overall I'm very happy how it turned out. Suspension is not harsh even though all rubber joints are now gone. I had professional help, one former Newman-Haas mechanic and other person has some NASCAR experience. Next project is the DTM style rear suspension.

Suspension is now installed and difference is huge. Car is much more responsive, especially under braking. Pictures available soon.

Since I will have to replace the front control arms soon, I thought why not to make DTM type suspension and spend little more. Fully adjustable and with replaceable joints.

Adjustments:
- Roll center
- Camber
- Caster
- Wheelbase
